Description

The Open University’s departments of Geography and Development Policy and Practice are looking for excellent post-doctoral candidates working on migration to apply for a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual European Fellowship at a UK host institution. We are particularly seeking those with expertise on:

  • Migration and inclusive growth in Africa
  • South-South migration
  • Diaspora ‘returnees’ in Africa
  • International Student migration
  • Skilled migration

     

Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual European Fellowships support the mobility of candidates travelling to and within Europe. They are open to scholars from any country who have not lived or worked in the UK for more than twelve months in the three years immediately prior to the application deadline of 12th September 2018. If you are interested in submitting a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellowship application to join the OU, please email an expression of interest (EoI) to Alessandra Marino (alessandra.marino@open.ac.uk) by 20th July.

You should include a CV with details of your academic and other relevant achievements, a 2 page project proposal and a 1 page cover letter explaining why you would like to work at the OU and identifying your preferred academic mentor(s).

Successful candidates will be notified by 31stJuly and will develop the full proposal with their mentor for final submission to the European Commission. Selection of the EoI will be made on the basis of excellence of the candidate and fit with the work of the identified mentors at the OU.
