What we offer:

Our most relevant resource is the methodology in Humanities we have developed in lasts years, related with Court Studies. It has proven that is successful in analysing complex phenomena and answering interdisciplinary questions from a holistic perspective. In this sense, our main research lines are:

- The Court as a system of the organization of power: political organization and territorial cohesion. Court, Royal Household and Royal Sites.

- The political and institutional organization of the Spanish Monarchy, in particular and of the dynastic European monarchies in general through the courtly system.

- The transformation of the paradigm of the Court to that of the Nation State.

Thanks to this, we have had relevant achievements in lasts years, that demonstrate our potential to train ER, as:

Research projects- We have received support, and participated, in research projects linked to the European Commission as COST actions, or to other research funding agencies as the Spanish MINECO, the belgians FNRS and FWO, the dutch NWO or the German DADD.

International Conferences and Workshops- Due to funding received, we have organized and collaborated at the organization of ca. 20 international conferences.

Publications- Linked to these projects we have published more than 85 impact works, both articles in important journals as books in relevant publishers, in and out of Spain.

Dissemination of the research results to society- The compromise of this group in transferring research results to society is clear with our participation in initiatives like The Night of the Researchers, The Week of Science, Pint of Science or YOCOCU. Due to this, we have received several projects linked to this activity like 4 proyects Erasmus + K2, 1 Creative Europe, two projects Article 83 (collaboration with enterprises), one of the CAM and another two linked to Connect Smart Cities.

MOOCS and online courses– The interest of the group for ICT and teaching had led us to ellaborate two MOOCs at the URJC UPCA (a department for the in-house production of academic material): Como elaborar un texto académico en Humanidades y Ciencias Sociales in 2015, dedicated to the elaboration of BA, MA or Ph´ds in Social Sciences and Humanities (elected as Top 100 in the world); and Los Sitios Reales como recurso profesional in 2018, where we have included the most advanced technologies to explain the possible profesional uses of the Royal Sites for Humanities, Geography, Education, Tourism and Architecture (selected as finalists at the Medea Awards 2019).

All this make our research group the ideal environment to host postdocs who want to enhance their career. We have proven experience in hosting spanish and foreign (Belgium, Croatia, Italy,…) researchers in different career moments (Ph´d, Postdoc and Professors), through initiatives as COST actions, Spanish MINECO, ERASMUS+ or ERASMUS Training, as well as in writing Marie Curie proposals.

Finally, beside the professional training directly provided by the URJC, the ER could enjoy with a number of training opportunities, especially through internships within a leading company working in the field of Augmented Reality, two museums from the Madrid área, as well as at the UPCA URJC
