National Science Centre Project entitled Dynamical evolution of radio galaxies – probing the past of a central supermassive black hole through analysis of associated large-scale radio emission.

The goal of this project is to conduct research consisting analysis of observational data (mainly radio and optical) on active galaxies and computer modelling of physical processes occurring in radio galaxies

For the post of postdoc/adjunct may apply a person who hold at least PhD degree in astronomy and fulfils requirements stated in Article 113 of the Act of 20th July 2018 Law on higher education and science, as well as in § 163 of the Statute of the Jagiellonian University.

Skills/Qualifications

For the post of postdoc/adjunct may apply a person who hold at least PhD degree in astronomy and fulfils requirements stated in Article 113 of the Act of 20th July 2018 Law on higher education and science, as well as in § 163 of the Statute of the Jagiellonian University.

2. Professional curriculum vitae.

3. Questionnaire of candidate for the post of postdoc/adjunct.

4. Copy of doctorate certificate certifying the academic title.

5. Self-report concerning essential research areas as well as scientific achievements of a candidate.

6. Track record.

7. Information about didactic activities.

8. Reviews of doctoral dissertation or habilitation dissertation.

9. A reference letter sent by the applicant's scientific supervisor.

10. Statement declaring that Jagiellonian University will be the basic place of employment in the case of being employed in the competition procedure.

11. Statement – in accordance with Article 113 of the Act Law on higher education and science.

12. Statement regarding acceptance of intellectual property rules adopted in the Jagiellonian University.

13. Information regarding personal data processing.

Specific Requirements

The candidate should:

  • have research achievements (publications in high rank journals, conference presentations) in the area of extragalactic radio astronomy,

and

  • have the skills of preparing, conducting, data reduction, analysis and interpretation of optical (photometric and spectroscopic) and radio (sensitive interferometric observations) observations of extragalactic objects confirmed by the list of accepted observational projects and relevant professional publications.
